As a reward for working so hard on their assembly, 3B got an unexpected treat, an extra visit to the Trim Trail- in lesson time!!! I’m sure you will agree that they deserved it. Well done 3B!

There was a  wonderful assembly by 3B today where we acted out a show called ‘Birchfields Investigates’ and explained everything we have learnt in our topic. There was reporting, Drama, interviewing and explaining in the assembly and we told the KS2 about how the solar system works, about timezones around the world, about people who work at night while we are asleep and about how nocturnal animals are adapted to live at night. Thank you to all our friends and relatives who came to watch us and we hope all the audience enjoyed watching it as much as we enjoyed performing it!

Well done 3B. Mrs Wales and Miss Offord chose us to look after Birchy this week as we have been working so hard on our topic - What is awake when we are asleep? I hope Birchy enjoys his visit. I think he will because there are plenty of volunteers to look after him!

Scary monsters have been found in Birchfields again! This time they were actually inside school when we were having a D&T lesson. They told us they were called Enji Benji, Jumbo Clumbo, Monster Jonster, Honster Monster and Blobby Bear. Can you guess which monster matches which name?

Well it seems that the favourite subject of the visitors to our blog is MATHS with 41% of the votes! 2nd was French. Joint 3rd was Science, Literacy and Topic. Thanks for your votes. We have enjoyed learning about venn diagrams and carroll diagrams in maths this week. Using graphs helps us sort information into categories and easily answer questions about the information.

What dreadful, horrendous, terrifying creatures could have made these shadows? 3B came face to face with them in the playground on Friday while we were learning about light and shadows for Science. Keep a look out for these monsters this weekend and call the police if you see them!

We have been learning about simulations in ICT. Everyone likes to do them. Our favourite was ‘Mario‘ but we also liked ‘Colin’s Coffee’. Have a go at the ones we have played by clicking on the link on the right.

We have been really excited to learn how to solve column addition and subtraction calculations. We have decided that it is easy, peasy, lemon squeezy to do them like this! We can even use this method to solve written number problems easily.
